I love to procrastinate, I mean its just what I do! But everynow and again I dive completely into a project and am overwhelmed by a determination for it to be completed and awesome. An example of this is how last summer I knitted several scarves despite the fact I really can knit, some current examples include:
Photography: I bought my first DSLR almost a year ago now, a beautiful Nikon D3000. It was only about six months ago though that I really started to take photography seriously, and you can check my flickr account to see what I mean. I will sometimes post my own images to the blog and as always all feedback and criticism, so long as it doesn't make me cry, is more than welcome.
Final Year Project: The undergraduate thesis here at the University of Limerick. I started (sort of) working on it sometime around last March and is due for submission in early Febuary. Even though I don't mind working on it and hanging out in the Library for most of the Summer Holidays, and I do find the topic ridiculously interesting, I am struggling to keep the momentum going on this one and the Procrastination bug is much much stronger than any determination I may have on this one. Also My supervisior frightens me a little despite the fact he's actually pretty cool. The wroking title of the FYP is 'Russian - Georgian Relations and the place of the West therein: The 2008 South Ossetia War, who is to blame?' and has lead me to have nightmares about Russia invading Georgia again before I submit it.
Dolls: This is a project that began only just the other day. Its come about as a result of me being slightly intrigued (some may say obsessed) with Japanese culture and having had half a bag of good quality of modelling clay in my wardrobe for the last five years. So far I have four clay dolls, hand made and hand painted in the style of kokeshi dolls, and hope to have a whole selection within the next month or so. I also hope to make other clay models, figurines and stautettes based on Japanese and parhaps other Asian style dolls.
Angrim and Friends: This is currently my longest running project and probably the least worked on. It is a comic about a viking called Angrim, who for comedic purposes is a seven foot tall Orange who works in a sex shop called Dickies'. I started working on it while I was living in the beautiful Polish city of Krakow, while on Erasmus. I had been drawing, inking and lettering several panels a day but since getting home my enthusiasm has waned a tad. I will eventually complete, what I'm hoping will work out as a Greek Tragedy, before moving onto his friends. A zombie polar bear, a Lego man pimp and a disturbing little girl who hangs out in coffee shops.
The Loveless: This is short story/short novel that I'm working on which I would love to see depicted as a manga style comic, unfortunately, I can't draw manga to save my life. So if you or anyone you know would be interested in drawing and inking a (roughly) three chapter book about people giving up there souls and quoting Nietschze at pivotal moments and stuff like that, please please do not hesitate to contact me. We could be partners!
I'll try to post images or some other form of documentation to proove the existence of these projects. In the meantime you'll just have to beleive that I don't spend all day on the internet or playing Freecell on my laptop.
